You were the Ocean that Drowned Me

You build my hopes up, to let them crash on the shore at your feet. You drown me in desire, lungs burning for air. As the sun rose over the shoreline, everything became clearer. Love wasn’t supposed to hurt like this. Hope is no longer a word I comprehend.
